  2. Born the fourth child of eight, I grew up knowing the love of parents, family, a faith community, and God. Unlike my older sister who was helpful, homebodyish, and mostly obedient, I joined after-schools programs and sought adventure. I didn't settle for easy answers and drove my mother nearly crazy, I think.
    Enough for now.
I love you, Angela, and look forward to blogging with you.
I hope you'll share more about what's going on in your current life. I'm curios!
    Your seminary and forever friend.
    Ruthie :)

  4. I love it! You know my great great grandma was a Cherokee Indian too, what a coincidence or God. I don't know if she was full or half. I love how god puts things together. I grew up in a Christian home all my life. I'd love to join you and learn. As a child and growing up I would always ask a lot of questions I had to know everything. I always ask questions still to this day. I also talk a lot to people I don't even know, God made me this way and it use to be a weakness but god showed me how it can be a strength as long as I also listen which I am getting better at. My family and I sing in a gospel group we have traveled all over singing for the Lord. I have met a lot of people that way and I enjoy singing with my mom and dad. Recently we added my husband to the group it sound great and he is doing quite well. I used to sing in the choir at Madison which allowed me to experiment with my voice and do different parts.
I can't wait to see your articles here and learn more about culture.

  5. My mother's father was a Jew from Lithania (through Ellis Island) and her mother was a Christian from New York state...a "Borden", from farming folk probably of German descent. Grandma's family was originally from NE Pennsylvania. My father's parents descended from Europeans, mostly Irish and German, and lived in New York State also. They also came from NE PA originally. Many people from there moved to the Binghamton NY area to work in the shoe factories. Very upstanding Methodists :)My parents have done a lot of genealogy work which is fascinating.

I fell in love with a man from WI at Hope College, with a Dutch & Reformed Church background. But I just think of myself as a girl who loves the Lord and His people. I'm looking forward to meeting all of you through this blog!
