Multiethnic/Multicultural Reciprocal Partnerships

--Be an advocate for Unity In Diversity--

Developing Hearts In Harmony Reciprocal Partners provides the tool kit that can equip you with skills and knowledge to communicate across culture and race & disability effectively. These tools are designed to equip and empower each partner to become educated in issues of cultural diversity and reconciliation. The objective of this movement is to nurture and facilitate the necessary confidence in each partner to become an advocate for change around the dinner table, in our schools, our workplace and throughout our community.

Partnerships aim to form pathways toward awareness and healing – one friend at a time

  • Two people of diverse ethnic, or educational, or socio-economic and faith backgrounds or physical ability are invited to pair together and commit to meet once a month for 6 months to dialogue about community, friendship, culture, racial identity and social justice.
  • Hearts In Harmony Reciprocal Partners are encouraged to meet together for coffee or a meal each month at alternate public locations.

Partners are provided a set of questions to guide mutual conversations, such as:

  • What is your family of origin, educational background, faith journey, etc.?
  • When did you first realize there were people of other cultures and abilities?
  • Do you choose your words more carefully when you’re with a person of another culture or physical ability?
  • What do you hope to gain from a friendship with someone different from yourself?

Partners are especially invited to attend quarterly fellowship gatherings to network, share a meal, watch a film, share experiences and build community.

We are waiting for you…
